3. Pizza party on Friday evening

The students participating in the programming contest are invited to a drop-in pizza party on Friday evening. The menu is pizza, soft drinks, and a light dessert. Most years the pizza is delivered by Domino’s, Papa John’s, or the like. (If your campus outsources food services, you might be limited contractually to a specific supplier.) It is difficult to determine the number of pizzas because some students arrive late, some eat elsewhere, and some don’t arrive until Saturday morning. Consider making arrangements for several deliveries, with an ability to cancel the last if demand is not there. Since you’ll be attending the banquet, you’ll need to rely on others (e.g., student volunteers) to manage the pizza party. The budget here needs to reflect that all contestants are now required to attend the pizza party and pizza orders need to be increased accordingly.

Deadline: 7 days before the conference.
Suggested starting date: 180 days before the conference.

We had the pizza delivered in 2 rounds. Half and the beginning of the event and half in the middle, so that the food was well dispersed and did not get cold.

Let the registration table know where the pizza is being served at so they can direct people. (KK 2014)
